Don’t Let Oral Disease Catch You By Surprise

We Perform Thorough Oral Pathology Exams

Just like any other part of your body, your mouth is susceptible to disease and bacteria that can be potentially lifethreatening. At the Dental Arts Studio of Cape Cod, we offer state-of-the-art oral pathology and oral cancer screenings to help identify and diagnose diseases of the mouth, jaw and related structures. With our oral pathology screenings, we can identify potentially dangerous or questionable disease or lesions in your mouth early on when they are most easily treated.

Only one-third of all oral cancer is identified when treatment is most successful, which means that not enough patients are being routinely checked and are putting their health at risk. Being evaluated by a professional is important because the signs and symptoms of oral cancer or other diseases typically do not cause pain or discomfort. As oral pathology professionals, we know just what to look for and will perform examinations, including x-rays, of your mouth, head and neck. We will identify any areas of concern based on the color, shape, size, location or texture of lesions. If anything seems concerning, we can use our gentle dental laser to perform a small biopsy, which will be evaluated for cancer or disease.
